I have been asked by many people: why a poncho? 

The answer to that question is simple: ponchos are the best piece of apparel ever invented. They are suitable for both men and women, and go with any outfit. They are extremely flattering for any body type. They keep you warm in the winter, but can be worn as a beach coverup in the summer! They can be dressed up for a hot date but are also work appropriate. When you wear a poncho, you are basically screaming to the world "I am a classy individual."

MECCA

For the construction of the IndiePoncho, I had to find a very large number of CDs. Luckily for me, there is a place in Eugene to find old CDs, scrap paper, half-used bottles of tempura paint, and just about every other miscellaneous knick-knack you can think of. This oasis of crafts is called MECCA, or the Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts. The nice ladies at MECCA helped me find over 300 CDs for the IndiePoncho. For 300 CDs, they only charged me $12!

Shitty music is everywhere...

So this morning, I was walking through campus when the unthinkable happened: this girl in front of me decided that she wants to start blaring her music through her iPod speakers so that the whole world could hear. This is never a good idea. Why?

Because a) NOBODY likes good music.

And b) NOBODY wants to be subjected to other people's shitty music.

That's when I had a brilliant idea: why should you have to deal with another person's bad music? And that's when I came up with the IndiePoncho.
